My journey to becoming a Portfolio Executive is rooted in a deep-seated belief in the transformative power of communication and collaboration. For decades, starting with founding bells in Germany as an American in 1988, I have been dedicated to helping professionals, particularly those in business, engineering, science, and technology (BEST), navigate the complexities of communicating effectively, especially across different cultures.
Moving from a dairy farm in Pennsylvania to working internationally brought a personal dimension to understanding cultural nuances, sparking my lifelong focus on this area.
Witnessing clients gain clarity, improve their interactions, and find tangible solutions reinforced my conviction that effective communication is not just a skill, but fundamental to success in all areas.
Over time, I systematized my insights into frameworks like CREAVELOP, WISPIRATION, and SUCCES, among others, learning deeply about human nature and the importance of asking the right questions. I learned that while going fast might mean going alone, to go far, you must go together. I also realized the importance of discovering my own unique path rather than simply following others.
What makes the portfolio approach work for me now is its alignment with my core values of co-creation and learning through diverse experiences. Working across various projects and with different clients allows me to continuously apply and refine my methodologies, drawing inspiration from one context to inform another. The fact that I now have a team who supports me in collaborating with others further enhances this capability. It allows us to bring unique expertise together to provide practical, hands-on support that gets results. The focus on meeting clients where they are and co-creating solutions ensures that our work is always relevant and impactful. Leveraging the three forms of intelligence, natural, human and artificial, is an exciting new frontier that strengthens our ability to deliver.
Looking ahead, I am excited about launching my “biggest endeavor” yet, continuing to integrate new insights like the practical applications of AI, and expanding our reach to help even more BEST professionals. The Co-Creation Book Project for 2025, with proceeds going to charity, is a concrete step towards a broader positive impact. Ultimately, I hope to continue co-creating better communication in our world, supporting individuals and organizations to find their voice and achieve success by working together.
