My journey started in an unexpected place—after leaving a rock band, I found myself working for the AA, pushing cables back into the slots they had fallen out of.
My first success came with E-list London, an online ticketing and booking system. At the time, all London clubs were still using paper. From my bedroom, I created a centralised outsourced ticketing agency that was eventually sold to what is now Ticketweb.
Along the way, I’ve learned that opportunities are everywhere. The real trick is positioning yourself to have the best view of them as they pass by—and having the chutzpa to jump in and seize them.
It works for me now because I’ve built a reputation for being able to identify and deliver exactly what’s missing in people’s LinkedIn game.
Looking forward, I want to learn how to ensure my team consistently provides a world-class service. I work on this by talking regularly with my mentors.
