I became a Portfolio Executive after working with SMEs, start-ups, and PE-backed firms to drive growth and exit strategies. Supporting Boards and CEOs to accelerate growth, mature and professionalise businesses, drive transformation, and bring out the best in colleagues and partners. It has been incredibly fulfilling.
Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of overseeing significant budgets, managing large teams, and leading high-risk, high-stakes change portfolios. While I’ve successfully driven growth for high street brands and led technology companies, I’ve found the speed and agility of smaller businesses far more exciting and rewarding.
In many ways, I’ve always been a Portfolio Executive. During my full-time career, I managed concurrent projects and business models, and in just a few years, I achieved 4x growth in SMEs. Delivering results in smaller businesses is exhilarating—it makes a real difference. Developing colleagues and partners has
proven to be more impactful than anything I’ve experienced in traditional roles. Immersing myself in each business is challenging yet deeply rewarding and allows me to bring energy and passion to a diverse portfolio.
One of my earliest successes was launching a new consumer rights platform and tripling its revenue on behalf of the founder. This effort also included restructuring two businesses to cut costs, replace outdated technology, and implement a new regulatory and corporate governance framework—all within six months.
I’ve learned that while businesses may share similar demands and challenges, each requires a tailored approach. It never ceases to amaze me how different every business challenge can be.
As a Portfolio Executive, I’ll make a difference, continuously develop myself and others, and drive genuine value. The variety that comes with different roles keeps me energised and inspired every day.
