I have always been passionate about helping visionaries and leaders bring their ideas to life. After two decades in the tech industry, I saw that many businesses, especially non-technical founders and leaders, struggle to navigate technology. Becoming a Portfolio Executive allows me to combine my technical expertise and leadership skills to support multiple organisations, while amplifying impact through diverse projects.
I chose a career in tech because I wanted to work from anywhere, travel the world, and speak many languages. I started in the corporate world working in Costa Rica, the USA, and now the UK, gaining exposure to different industries, cultures, teams, companies, and ways of doing things. I then moved to my own company to have more flexibility to grow in the areas I cared about most: technology, business, strategy, and people, and to bring the most value to those around me.
My first real success came when I transitioned to fractional CTO. That was the moment when things started to make more sense. My career had always combined technical work and coding with talking to customers, understanding the business, and navigating diverse teams, yet previous job titles never quite captured the depth of what I did. This role gives me the opportunity to think strategically, not just on the technical side but on the business side too, while combining high technical expertise with an understanding of the human element.
Along the way, I’ve learned that technology is a powerful enabler, but success rarely comes from technology alone. It comes from the ability to take what feels complex and make it simple, to bring clarity where there is confusion, and to align teams around a shared vision and clear goals. It’s not about chasing every new trend, but focusing on the impact that truly matters for people, businesses, and the world around us. I’ve also come to value adaptability as one of the most important skills, because no two companies walk the same path. Each journey is unique, and the ability to flex, adjust, and grow with it is what turns technology into transformation.
This approach works because of the combination of depth and breadth I bring to the table. With 20+ years of experience across startups, scaleups, and global organisations, I’ve seen technology challenges from every angle and learned how to translate complex technical realities into clear business outcomes. Beyond my own expertise, I have a trusted global network of specialists I can call on, so my clients benefit from world-class knowledge without the need to build large in-house teams. Above all, what drives me is purpose: my mission to harness technology to empower people, enable businesses to thrive, and create sustainable impact. In today’s fast-moving market, that focus on practical innovation and meaningful change resonates more than ever.
Looking ahead, I plan to continue creating opportunities for people through technology, building sustainable solutions that benefit both businesses and society. I want to inspire more entrepreneurs, especially women and underrepresented groups, to embrace technology with confidence, and to expand the positive impact of my work globally.
