I was motivated to become a Portfolio Executive because, apart from a relatively short period where I had my own IT Services company (which ran into the 2000’s challenges), I have spent my working life working for other people. Whilst fulfilling over the years, nearly 40 years of doing this has left me wanting more from life. I’m not in any way looking at retirement, but I am looking for something more varied and areas where I can make a significant impact.
I got started after successfully negotiating my departure from my previous role and relocating to the South West. I made a deliberate decision to leverage three decades of hard-won experience to help other leaders avoid the operational pitfalls that can derail growth. As a Fractional Chief Operating Officer, I partner with founders and leadership teams who recognize that backend operational complexities are diverting critical focus from customers and innovation. I step into that operational space, managing day-to-day execution while enabling leadership to concentrate on strategic priorities and market opportunities.
At this time, it is still early days, so I am seeking opportunities to leverage my skills to help others.
